Charlotte L. Vodak, 96, of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, September 5, 2019 at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
Charlotte was born October 8, 1922 in McFarland, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Lee) Suetmeier.
On February 6, 1943, Charlotte married Albin W. Vodak in Abilene, Texas.
Charlotte was a manager at JC Penney for many years. Charlotte was Past President of the American Legion Post #77 Women’s Auxiliary and she enjoyed volunteering for several organizations; she was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1038 and attended the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor.
Charlotte is survived by one daughter, Barb (Clint) Hand of Chippewa Falls; three sons, William (Vanessa) Vodak of Spicewood, TX, Dale (Laurita) Vodak of Tyler, TX and Tom (Nancy) Vodak of Abilene, TX; one brother-in-law, Dave Swendsen of Acton, Mass.; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Albin on November 6, 2009; her parents; seven sisters; and one grandson, Scott Vodak.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman of St. Charles Church will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls.
