Alane "Dolly" M. Olson

Alane Marie “Dolly” Olson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Home Suite Home Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Dolly was born on November 5, 1956, in Stanley, Wisconsin, to Clarence and Elizabeth Olson. She spent most of her life on the family farm in Owen before moving to Chippewa Falls in 2001 to live with her sister, Connie.

Dolly brought joy to everyone she met. She loved spending time with family, playing with her pets, watching wildlife, and shopping. A lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, she delighted in listening to his music and learning everything she could about him. One of the highlights of her life was visiting Graceland.

She is survived by her sister, Connie Maki of Chippewa Falls, WI; sister-in-law, Mary (Richard) Olson of Wausau, WI; brothers, Father David Olson of Ellsworth, WI, and Daniel (Shelley) Olson of Aitkin, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, as well as countless friends who loved her dearly.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Clarence Jr., James (and his wife Lorraine), and Richard; her sister, Karen Koltis (and her husband Joe); and brother-in-law, Lester Maki.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Home Suite Home and the team from Mayo Clinic Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Dolly’s final days.

Dolly was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her. Her kind heart, warm spirit, and joyful presence will be deeply missed.
