Alice Ann Bowe Obituary
Alice Ann Bowe, 74, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family and under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.
Alice was born on August 14, 1950, in Chippewa Falls, to Roman and Verena (Zwiefelhofer) Bowe. She married the love of her life, Joseph Bowe, on June 3, 1972, at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and deep commitment to family for 53 years.
She found great satisfaction in helping children as a speech and language pathologist for many years and retired from the Cadott School District in 2014. Her kind and patient spirit touched countless young lives.
Alice was a devoted and active member of Holy Ghost Church throughout her marriage. Her involvement in the parish community was an extension of the care and compassion she shared so freely with others.
Alice, along with Joe, had a deep love of travel-from a honeymoon trip to Columbia, tent camping across America, to European cruises. The family, eventually expanded to in-laws and grandkids, cherished their annual summer vacations together. Recent adventures included the Dominican Republic, Ireland, North Carolina, Florida, New England and countless trips to their cabin in the Northwoods. These trips became treasured traditions that reflected Alice’s belief in the importance of family bonds and creating lasting memories through shared experiences.
Nothing brought Alice more joy than being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a tireless supporter and their most enthusiastic cheerleader. She instilled in them a love of learning, reading, and exploring the world.
Alice was an extraordinary wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma and sister, whose warmth, selflessness, and strength were the heart of her home. She will be remembered for her creativity and generosity—crocheting blankets with love, sharing her passion for books, and delighting in diamond painting. But above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Joe; her son, Shawn (Deon Michels-Bowe) Bowe of Holmen; her daughter, Leah (Gerald) O’Neill of Beverly, MA; her five treasured grandchildren: Roman, Brianna, Gwyneth, Dylan, and Griffin; two brothers, Allard (Diane) Bowe and Galen (Jeanne) Bowe; one sister, Karen Bowe; brother-in-law, John Melville; sisters-in-law, Nevena Bowe and Lynn Melon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Bowe; her parents; three brothers, Ronald, Keith, and Linus Bowe; and her sister, Alvera Melville.
