Allen J. Simon, 77, of Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Allen was born October 12, 1946 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Louis and Katherine (Turany) Simon.

Allen served honorably in the U.S. Army.

On October 12, 1968, Allen married Yvonne Connell at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church.

Allen enjoyed gardening, the Packers, chickens and butchering.

Allen is survived by one son, Joseph (Stacey) Simon of Cadott and their children, Brandon and Katelynn; four daughters, Michele (Dale) Zimmerman of Chippewa Falls and their children, Amanda and Cody Zimmerman; Tammy (Chad Joas) Simon of Chippewa Falls and their children, Bobbi, Carothers  Troy and Jimmy Rasmusen; Amy (fiancé, Jeremy Loew) Simon of Slidell, LA and their children, Randell and Robert Rands and Hayden Sole; Christina (fiancé, Mitch Taylor) Simon of Cornell and his three daughters, Jodee, Trinity and Jersey; three  sisters, Armilla Geist of Bloomer, Fran (Don) Girard of Chippewa Falls and Roseanne Winrich of Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends; and his loyal companion, his dog, Peanut.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne; his parents; six brothers, Tony, William, Wilfred, Norbert, Ernest, and Christopher in infancy; five sisters, Josephine Humbert, Alice McDonald, Dorothy Boos, Joan Morain and Ann Schemenauer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Horan Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Allen J. Simon were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden.

Rev. Msgr. Michael Gorman was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Deacon Dan Rider. Interment was at the Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and the St. Peter’s Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Amanda Zimmerman and Bobbi Jo Carothers. Gift bearers were Shantel, Heaven, Navaeh, Ellie, and Mylee Rasmussen, Brandy, Emma, and Harmonie Carothers.

Casket bearers were Brandon and Jared Simon, Cody Zimmerman, Robert Rands, Hayden Sole, Troy and Jimmy Rasmussen, Greg and Duane Humbert.
