Betty J. Martin Obituary

                Betty J. Martin, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, January 20, 2025 at Our House Memory Care in Chippewa Falls, under the care of Interim Healthcare Hospice.


                Betty was born December 18, 1934 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Otto and Mary (North) Zech.


                On June 11, 1955, Betty married Harold Martin at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Notre Dame Church.


                Betty was a medical secretary for Dr. Maniquiz for many years.


                 Betty loved gardening, yard art, needlepoint and baking – particularly cookies, candies and peanut brittle and enjoyed belonging to a Studebaker Club, playing cards, traveling to the west coast, especially to Arizona, California and Alaska.


                Betty is survived by one daughter, Julie Martin (fiancé, Troy Helmbrecht) of Chippewa Falls; family friend, Dennis Purdue of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Bobby (Jane) Zech and Ronnie (Barb) Zech both of Chippewa Falls and three great grandchildren, Sebastian Martin, Olivia Martin and Harlee Martin.


                Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on October 27, 2001; two sons, Michael Martin and Kenneth Martin; her parents; and one grandson, Joshua Martin; and her companion, Donald Knutson.


                Funeral services will be held at Noon Wednesday, January 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Jesse Burish will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.


                Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Noon on Wednesday, January 29 at the church.


AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:


Funeral services for Betty J. Martin were held at Noon Wednesday, January 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.


                The Very Rev. Jesse Burish was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass server, Mark Krejci. Entombment was in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.


                Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and Beth Martinek.


                Casket bearers were Andy Bussman, Troy Helmbrecht, Tim Keilholtz, Kevin Nietek, Dennis Purdue, Bob and Mark Zech.
