Betty J. Schemenauer

                Betty J. Schemenauer, 90, of Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.

                Betty was born June 6, 1933 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Guepher) Hebert.

                Betty graduated from McDonell High School in 1951 and was a member of Notre Dame Church.

                On August 28, 1951, Betty married Percy Schemenauer at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. She loved gardening, quilting, feeding her cats, her family and going to the casino.

                Betty is survived by two sons, Louie (Sharon) Schemenauer of Chippewa Falls and Dennis (Tammy) Schemenauer of Bloomer; four daughters, Debbie (Dale) Konechney of Cadott, Claudia Elstran of Chippewa Falls, Jan (Bob) Rothbauer of Bloomer and Kim (Gary) Blaeser of Holcombe; one half-brother, Howard Hebert of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren 27 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, one great great great grandson; and other relatives and friends.

                Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Percy on June 8, 2002; her son-in-law, John “Lip” Elstran; her parents; one sister, Jean Ann Hebert; and one grandson, Scott Konechney.

                Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, August 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brandon Guenther will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Noon on Tuesday, August 29 at the church.

                A special heartfelt thank you to Cecilia “Sis” Schemenauer for your Wednesday visits, also a thank you to Mayo Clinic Hospice and the hospice nurses, Linda Langer, Kayte Raether, Karla Klopp and Brittney Homer.

                AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: 

                Funeral services for Betty J. Schemenauer were held at Noon Tuesday, August 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.

                Rev. Brandon Guenther was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass server, Mark Birrittella. Interment was in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and Amanda Schafer. Readings were given by Jenna and Ryan Elstran. Gift bearers were Connor Schemenauer and Schila Sisko.

                Casket bearers were John and Sara Benish, Karlie Blaeser, John Elstran, Brandon Rothbauer, Brady and Jarrod Schemenauer, and Misty Vajgrt.
