Beverly Maurer Obituary

Beverly M. Maurer, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at her residence with her son, Joseph, by her side. This was 43 years to the day after her own mother passed away on March 6, 1981.

Above all, Beverly was a woman of faith and devotion, and she was a shining example of resilience and strength as she suffered through her illness.

Beverly was born April 30, 1933, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Frank and Marion (Mitchell) Willette. She graduated from McDonell Memorial High School in 1951. She loved her early years working at the 1st National Bank with the Vice President and later loved helping her husband with his insurance business.  She also volunteered for Literary Volunteers of America and was a member of St. Charles Parish.  In addition, she was a member of the Chippewa Senior Center and a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club.

Her many friends remember her as bubbly and optimistic. She was also a creative problem solver who could find a solution to almost any issue that crossed her path. Beverly loved traveling, crafts, politics, biographies, and even playing the slots. She cared for many relatives and friends throughout her life in their time of need, and she was always more concerned about others than herself. Faith and her family were her priorities.

On September 14, 1957, Beverly married Roger Maurer at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls and together they had two sons.

Beverly is survived by one son, Joseph of Madison; one nephew, Jim Rogers of Stevens Point; and three nieces, Jane Rogers, Portland, Oregon, Barbara Dobson of Acworth, Georgia, and Carol Hayman of Maurietta, Georgia.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, on February 22, 1998; one son, Thomas, on May 31, 2017; her parents; three brothers-in-law, John, Paul, and Peter Maurer; and one sister-in-law, Jeanette Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Alex Kren will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at the church on Friday, March 15.

Beverly loved singing in the kitchen as she cooked, but she stopped singing after the death of her husband and oldest son. She often spoke of being with them again. Now that she has joined her husband and son, she is singing again.

The family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice for their care and support.
