Carmela J. Duex

Carmela J. Duex, 57, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, September 29, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.

Carmela was born March 15, 1966 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Charles and Bonnie (Sobeck) Newman.

On January 20, 1989, Carmela married Paul Duex at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Carmela was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Carmela is survived by her husband, Paul; one daughter, Hannah (fiancé, Dylan Klemke) of Chippewa Falls; 2 brothers-in-law, Jim (Missy) Duex of Chippewa Falls and Thomas (Catherine) Duex of Chippewa Falls: three brothers, Paul Newman of Eau Claire, Dirk (Melissa) Newman of Tucson, AZ and Nick (Chelsy) Newman of Prior Lake, MN; and three sisters, Krystal (Curt) Larson of Eau Claire, Tamara (Scott) Christopherson of Mondovi and Samantha Newman of Eau Claire.

Carmela is also survived by 16 Beautiful Nieces and Nephews, 3 Great Nephews and 1 Great Niece: Tyler Duex: Sydney, Noah, Kamryn, Isaac and Tee Duex: Tony, Landon and Seth Larson; Makenzy and Brennen Christopherson; Jack, Claire and Luke Newman; Olivia, Sophia and Benjamin Newman; Nora and Blake Larson; Oskar Larson

Carmela was preceded in death by one daughter, Chelsea on July 2, 2012; her in- laws, Jim and Mary Duex; and sister-in-law, Leticia Gonzalez Newman.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon on Monday, October 9 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman will be celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Noon on Monday, October 9 at the church.
