Carol J. Swoboda, 74, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, March 14, 2026 at her residence under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

                Carol was born November 21, 1951 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Matthew and Irene (Schindler) Bowe.

                On April 11, 1970, Carol married Steven Swoboda at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden. She was a cook at Chi-Hi and the Chippewa Area School District. She was a member of St. Charles Church.

                Carol enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, painting, and gardening. She was an essential part of the farm. Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her sassy spirit and laugh will be missed. She left an amazing legacy to her children and grandchildren.

                Carol is survived by her husband, Steve; two daughters, Lisa (Pat) Wolf of Altoona and Christine Swoboda (Vernon Walker) of Milwaukee; one son, Bryon (Lisa) Swoboda of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Darlene O’Driscoll of Chippewa Falls; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Rece, Conner and Karter.

                Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Bowe; and one sister, Donetta Geissler.

                A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26th at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden.  Inurnment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

                Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26th at the church.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: 

A Memorial Mass for Carol J. Swoboda was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26th at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden.

                Riv. Timothy Oudenhoven was celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Inurnment was in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and the St. Peter’s Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Nikki Bowe and Terry Bowe. Gift bearers were Lisa Swoboda and Emily Wolfe.

                Urn bearers were Tyler Pearson,  Conner and Karter Swoboda, and Rece Wolfe
