Dennis E. Fenner, 77, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, died suddenly Monday, December 15, 2025 at his residence.
Dennis was born October 30,1948 in Eau Claire, the son of Ervin and Marion (Mueller) Fenner. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy.
Dennis worked at Pope & Talbot for 40 years.
On June 26, 1971, Dennis married Phyllis Wall and then he married Brenda K. Daken on June 5th, 1982 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. He was a member of St. Bridget’s Church.
Dennis was filled with joy and loved life to the fullest. He was happiest surrounded by his dear friends and family.
Dennis enjoyed walking and biking in Wissota State Park, playing his guitar and gardening.
Dennis was a devoted father, loving grandfather and lifelong storyteller.
Dennis was known for his contagious smile, remarkable memory, his attention to detail, his handmade Christmas ornaments and his craft as a machinist.
Dennis is survived by two sons, Matthew Fenner of Madison and Anthony (Wei) Fenner of McKinney, TX; one daughter, Jessica (Jacob) Sweeney of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, David (Nattaya) Fenner of Menomonie and Douglas (Brenda) Fenner of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Ann Fenner of Madison and Debbie (Gary) Fellenz of Pleasant View, UT; 7 grandchildren, Jesse Fenner, Cody Melgaard, Adrienne Tolliver, Carrisa Melgaard, Andrew Fenner, Rayanne Brock and Victoria Fenner and 8 great granddaughters.
Dennis was preceded in death by both of his wives, Phyllis on January 12, 1981 and Brenda on August 12, 2009; one daughter, Sarah; his parents; and one brother, Dale Fenner.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in the town of Seymour. Rev. David Nowicki will be celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23rd at the church.
AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:
A Memorial Mass for Dennis E. Fenner was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 23 at St. Bridget’s Church in the town of Seymour.
Rev. David Nowicki was celebrant of the Memorial Mass and officiated at the prayers of inurnment in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Military rites were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and Mary Schwetz. Readings were given by Debbie Fellenz and Don Fenner. Gift bearers were Victoria Fenner and Wei Fenner.
Urn bearers were Andrew Fenner, Cody Melgaard, Paul Schatz and Eli Sweeney.
