Diane M. Schindler, 82, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her daughters house under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

                Diane was born May 25, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Bernard and Alverna (Langel) Reischel.

                On August 25, 1959, Diane married Donald Francis Schindler at St. Charles Church. They were married for 59 years to each other.

                Diane took up accordion lessons at the age of 12 and played with the Chippewa Ramblers at 14 years of age. She started her own band (Chippewa Valley Dutchmen) and played on stage for 40 years and played in nursing homes for 20 years. Her accordion playing brought so much joy to all who heard her play.

                Diane enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, playing cards, dice and games. Badger basketball was her all-time favorite sport to watch but loved watching all sports. She watched game shows too if sports weren’t on. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren equally. She loved traveling and wintering in Arizona. She worked at Rutledge Home for 17 years and was a great caregiver to her husband.

                Diane is survived by one son, Wes (Dawn) Schindler of Chippewa Falls and their family, Alec, Toni, Stuart and Grant; two daughters, Jeanette Schindler of Colorado and her family, Tyler and Cam and Wanda (Mark) Brooks and their family Haley, Bernie, Leah and Paige; one son-in-law, Philip Moore; and her granddaughter, Alisha; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Jim and Dot Reischel; and one sister, Leah (Jim) Bourassa.

                Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on January 20, 2019; one daughter, Barb Schindler-Moore; and her parents

                Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Michael J. Gorman will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at the church.

Funeral services for Diane M. Schindler were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.

                Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman and the Very Rev. Jesse Burish concelebrated at the funeral Mass assisted by Mass servers, Matt Amundson and Ron Bresina. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Abigail Lynch and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Antonia Grant and Haley Jennings. Gift bearers were Alisha Caracofe, Leah Hoffman and Paige Jones.

                Casket bearers were Brian Grant, Cameron Londono, Tyler Londono, Alec Schindler, Grant Schindler and Stuart Schindler.
