Dianne L (Dvorak) Stolp, age 88 of Chippewa Falls, passed peacefully from this world to join her husband, Stephen in heaven on June 7, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Dianne was born in Bloomer, WI on December 27, 1937 to her mother, Eva Lighthizer and her father, Frank Dvorak. She spent her childhood living in Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, Milwaukee and finally Augusta. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1956. After high school she attended St. Mary’s Nursing School in Rochester, MN and then began her nursing career at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. It is during this time when she met Stephen Stolp and they were married on May 7, 1966 at St. Patrick’s parish in Eau Claire. Growing up as an only child, Dianne relished being welcomed into Steve’s large family and always thought of his parents and siblings as her own. Dianne loved being a nurse and besides working in hospitals, she also worked at the Northern Center for the Disabled in Chippewa Falls and then ended her career at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire.

As much as her patients benefited from her nurturing care, her children and grandchildren were by far the most fortunate recipients of her love. Dianne and Steve raised 5 children together and their family was their greatest source of love and pride. Dianne was never happier than when she had her children around her.

Dianne’s love and legacy will live on in her sons, Eric (Denise) of Altoona, Jeff (Stacy) of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan of Altoona, her daughters, Stephanie (Christopher) Bowe of Harpswell, Maine, and Jennifer Jaskot of Roberts. As well as in her grandchildren, Corey (Jordon), Alex (Sarah), Theo (Sydney), Allison, Madeleine, Christopher, Finn, Will, Natalie, Drew, Tyson, Lily, Sydney, Delilah and in her great- grandchildren, Harlow, Roo, Matilda, Hazel, Isaac and Otto. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters -in-law, Vivian, Robert, Lois, Jeanne, Larry and Ken and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Stephen, her parents-in-law Agnes and Charles Stolp, brothers-in-law - Ed, Charles, David, Sisters-in-law - Mary and Barbara, a granddaughter, Viola, as well as nephews, Tom and Larry and nieces, Amanda and Emily.

Dianne was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo parish in Chippewa Falls and enjoyed being a member of their choir for many years. She had a great love of flowers and gardening and was passionate about reading. You could not leave her house without a few book recommendations or actual books, as she would not take no for an answer as she handed you a stack of books or tucked one in your bag. She was always putting others ahead of herself and rarely sat when she had company visiting to make sure no plate or glass was empty. Whether she was caring for a sick patient or loved one, nurturing a child, tending to her plants and garden or fostering a love of reading in others, Dianne was a loving angel on earth and her presence will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19th at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Christian vigil service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18th at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.  There will also be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Her family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the staff at Grace Prairie Pointe Memory Care in Altoona and St. Croix Hospice for their care and support during Dianne’s final years.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: 

Funeral services for Dianne L. Stolp were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19th at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.

Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass servers, Steve Armstrong and Tom Weyenberg Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.

Music during the Mass was provided by Curstin Lynch, Tom Stolp and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Chris Bowe and Chris Jaskot. Gift bearers were Milford and Sonja Lechleitner.

Casket bearers were Alex, Finn, and Will Bowe, Chris, Drew and Tyson Jaskot.

Thursday evening Rev. Msgr. Gorman led the family, relatives and friends in a Christian vigil service at the funeral home. Words of appreciation were given by Theo Bowe.
