Donna M. Amerson, 88, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

                Donna was born October 27, 1935 in Mikana, WI, the daughter of John and Fern (Church) Busick.

                On October 9, 1973, Donna married Joseph Amerson in Rhinelander.

                Donna worked in administration in nursing homes in Rice Lake, Bloomer and Rhinelander. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and a charter member of VFW Auxiliary of Mikana Post #8976.

                She loved the Green Bay Packers, crocheting, baking, cooking, playing cards and especially cherished being around family.

                Donna is survived by three daughters, Melissa (Jon) Luther of Jim Falls, Cynthia (Bruce) Butterfield of Rhinelander and Annette (Tom) Sykora of Chippewa Falls; three sisters, Nancy Strand of Rice Lake; Virginia Sandridge of Sarona and Judy  Hanson of MN; 8 grandchildren, Wendell Skar, Jessica and Ryan Blahnik, Timothy and Stephen Sykora, Joseph, Leon and Noah Luther; one great grandson, Brayden Skar; and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

                Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on June 7, 2004; one son, Edward Skar; her parents; six brothers, Ronald, Eugene, Garold, Charles, Richard and Dennis Busick; and one granddaughter, Sarah Sykora.

                Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Peter’s Church in the town of Tilden. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

                Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at the church.

              AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: 

Funeral services for Donna M. Amerson were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden.

                Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Deacon Dan Rider. Interment was in the church cemetery.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and the St. Peter’s Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Sue Luther. Gift bearers were Abby, Collin, Gavin, and Laken Sykora.

                Casket bearers were Ryan Blahnik, Nate Jones, Joseph, Leon and Noah Luther, Andy, Stephen and Tim Sykora.
