Elfrieda "Ellie" L. Wittrock Obituary

Elfrieda “Ellie” L. Wittrock, 79, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls under the care of St. Croix Hospice.


                Ellie was born January 31, 1947 in Cornell, the daughter of Harold and Esther (Peaslee) Stewart.


                On July 24, 1971, Ellie married Joseph Wittrock at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of St. Charles Church.


                Ellie operated an in-home daycare and was a playground supervisor at St. Charles School for many years. She also worked for the Salvation Army and volunteered for the Veterans organization and was President of the AmVets Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Legion and AmVets Auxiliaries.


                Ellie is survived by one son, David (Jolie) Wittrock of Cadott; four daughters, Wendy (Robert) Green of Chippewa Falls, Angela Wittrock of Cadott, Sara (Bill Block) Wittrock of Bloomer and Nancy (Mike) Gesler of Chetek; three brothers, William Stewart of Cornell, Richard (Karen) Stewart of Sheldon and Tom Stewart of Holcombe; three sisters, Barb Close of Boyd, Eileen (Gary) Sikora of Cornell and Debbie (Andy) Frazen of Tony; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


                Ellie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe on December 29, 2019; three sons, Robert Lee, John Joseph and Jeremy Michael Wittrock; son-in-law, Jon Larson; her parents; and twin sister, Esther Stewart.


                Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Alex Kren will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date.


                Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17th and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.


                AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:


Funeral services for Elfrieda “Ellie” L. Wittrock were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18th at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.


                Rev. Alex Kren was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass servers, Matt Amundson and Tom Weyenberg. Interment was in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.


                Music during the service was provided by Curstin Lynch and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Eileen Sikora. Gift bearers were Jenna Hoglund and Ella and Lillian Larson.


                Casket bearers were Dennis Alger, Jamie and Paul Close, Nate Hoglund, Dakota and Jonathan Larson, Tim Sikora and Jon Smazal.
