Gary J. Bowe, 76, of Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

                Gary was born February 24, 1947 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Emil and Bernice (Zwiefelhofer) Bowe.

                On August 19, 1967 Gary married the love of his life, Jeanne Baier at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden. They were married 57 years.  He was a dairy farmer all his life.

                Gary was a member of St. Charles Church. He was a volunteer for the Tilden Fire Department and relished a polka band with his sisters. He operated a cattle hauling business with his dad, He enjoyed softball, hunting and fishing.

                Gary is survived by his wife, Jeanne; two sons, Mark Bowe of Eau Claire and Andy (Nikki) Bowe of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Tracey Balthazor of Eau Claire; two sisters, Linda (Cliff) Zwiefelhofer and Lois (Dave) Melgaard both of Chippewa Falls; and six grandchildren, Courtney, Grace, Cole, Jack, Drew and Bryn.

                Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

                A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon on Monday, February 26 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman will be celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Noon on Monday, February 26 at the church.

                Gary’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Marshfield Medical Center Critical Care Unit in Marshfield.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

                A Memorial Mass for Gary J. Bowe was held at Noon, Monday, February 26 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.

                Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman was celebrant of the Memorial Mass assisted by Mass servers, Matt Amundson and Ron Bresina. Inurnment was in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Abigail Lynch and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Ginger Harings and Diane Schemenauer. Gift bearers were Bryn Balthazor and Courtney and Grace Bowe

                Urn bearers were Bryn Balthazor, Cole, Courtney, Drew, Grace and Jack Bowe.
