Gerald "Jerry" L. Hallum Obituary
Gerald L. “Jerry” Hallum, age 88, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire, with family by his side.
Born and raised in Chippewa Falls, Jerry entered the world on January 27, 1937, to James and Myrtle (Selnes) Hallum. A graduate of Chippewa Falls High School, Class of 1955, Jerry built a life rooted in hard work and quiet strength.
On December 11, 1986, Jerry married his soulmate, Darline (Caza) Miller. Together, they shared 36 joyful years until her passing in 2022. Their blended family was the heart of their world.
Jerry retired from Uniroyal in 1992, at age 55, following the plant’s closure. He made the most of retirement, filling his days with the things he loved most. He was a familiar face at local auctions and estate sales, a passionate fan of motocross and boxing, and an avid bowler in the National League at Falls Bowl. His love for the game spanned deacades, and his presence at the lanes was as steady as his aim.
He leaves behind his son, Jeffery Hallum of Chippewa Falls; stepchildren, Debra (Rick) Johnson, Diane Miller, and Darven (Lee) Miller all of Chippewa Falls; and DeLloyd (Lisa) Miller of Lake Hallie. He will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his close friends.
He now reunites with his beloved wife, Darline; his parents, James and Myrtle Hallum; his brother, Joe Hallum; stepson, Dennis Miller; stepdaughters, Deanna Miller and Delores Tallman; and granddaughter, Shawna Miller.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Jerry’s memory in a way that reflects his spirit, by visiting a local estate sale or thrift store, or by donating to a charity of your choice.
