                Helen R. Bowe, 100, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side under the care of St. Croix Hospice.


                Helen was born October 17, 1923, in Jim Falls, the daughter of Peter J. and Rose (Kurtz) Dachel Sr.


                On January 17, 1944, Helen married Raymond G. Bowe at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of St. Charles Church and Catholic Women's Club.


                Helen was a hard worker and enjoyed her favorite pastimes, Scrabble and Bingo.


                One of Helen’s proudest moments in her life was seeing her great-grandson, Matthew Bowe ordained a priest.


                Helen is survived by six sons, Earl (Cathy), Lester (Viola), Clyde “Shorty”, Carl (Kathy) Bowe, and Arnold (Pam) Bowe all of Chippewa Falls, Jerome “Bud” (Charlene) Bowe of Bloomer; four daughters, Edna Schemenauer, Joyce (Allen) Gehl, Mary (Mark) Hebert all of Chippewa Falls, and Gloria (Jim) Neece of Fruitland Park, FL; one sister, Maryann (Vern) Culver of Cudahy, WI; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Dachel of Chippewa Falls; 20 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.


                Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on August 23, 1993; her parents; four brothers, Bernard, Marvin, Robert and Peter Dachel, Jr.; and one sister, Rosemary Ferguson; one son-in-law, Francis “Pretzel” Schemenauer; daughter-in-law, Jean Bowe; and all of her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law on the Bowe side.


                Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, May 7 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Matthew Bowe and Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman will concelebrate at the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.


                Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6 and from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The ladies of St. Charles will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian vigil service at 7:30 p.m. both on Monday at the funeral home.


                Helen’s family would like to thank the caring staff from St. Croix Hospice, and for the special help from Lynn and Jane. We appreciate all you did!


AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:


Funeral services for Helen Bowe were held at Noon Tuesday, May 7 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.


                Rev. Msgr. Michael Gorman and Rev. Matthew Bowe concelebrated the funeral Mass. Entombment was in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.


                Music during the Mass was provided by Abigail Lynch and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Nicole Bowe and Lisa Stoffel. Gift bearers were Amanda Goettl, Aleisa Vavra, Missy Bowe, Linda Klatt, Holly Buckli, and Janelle Grenz.


                Casket bearers were Jamie, Travis, Scott, Chad, Brian, and Alex Bowe.
