Jacqueline McFaul Obituary

Jacqueline V. McFaul, 88, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 (4
days shy of her 89 th birthday) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Jacqueline was born March 28, 1935 in Eau Claire, the daughter of John and Lillian (Benson)
Grill.

In October of 1955, Jackie married Richard McFaul at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire, WI.
Together they raised a family of six children, supported each other’s interests, and remained devoted to
each other throughout their 68 years of marriage. Throughout her life, Jacqueline was passionate about education and learning from all aspects of her life - as a person, teacher, and parent. Jacqueline graduated from UW Eau Claire with a degree in Education in 1974, and then taught in various public and
private schools throughout her career (Ninth Ward/Southview Elementary and Halmstad Elementary in
Chippewa Falls, St. Joseph’s School in Bloomer, and the Chippewa Falls Middle School and High School)
both as a classroom teacher and as a middle and high school orchestra director. An early adopter of the
Suzuki philosophy of music education, she pursued training in the method and created the Chippewa
Falls School of Talent Education, the first Suzuki violin program in Chippewa Falls. Jacqueline played
both the violin and piano, and was a member of the violin section of the Chippewa Valley Symphony for
many years. Her children are musicians, painters, sculptors, potters, gardeners, business owners, and
teachers. As a parent, she made extraordinary efforts to support all of her childrens’ creative, familial,
and professional activities throughout her life.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Richard; three sons, Daniel (Donna) McFaul of Hayward, Peter
McFaul of Chippewa Falls and John McFaul of Ironwood, MI; three daughters, Laureen (Mitchell) Myers
of Mercer, WI, Anne (Michael) Reid of St. Paul, MN and Rebecca (Robert Davies) McFaul of Logan, Utah;
and four grandchildren, Justin Wathke, Coya Shorter, Fiona Ernst, and Avery Reid.

Jacqueline leaves a legacy of laughter, love, curiosity, love of music, and an inspirational ability
to live in the moment, all of which were fully present until she passed. She will be deeply missed, but
her energy will be carried and celebrated into the future in all those she touched.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Rogene.
