James V. Felix, 77, the son of Vernon C. and Alberta L. (Buchanan) Felix passed away unexpectedly at the home he loved in the woods on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Jim was born June 30, 1947. Jim grew up on the southside of Chippewa Falls. He attended Holy Ghost Grade School, graduating in 1965 from McDonell Central High School. He also attended UW-Eau Claire, graduating with a degree in Accounting. He was a past member of the Army National Guard.

For many years, Jim worked as a CPA for accounting firms in the Twin Cities. He finished his professional life as a recruiter, placing accounting candidates with the right companies. After retiring and moving to Glen Flora, WI he worked for a time for Weather Shield. Most recently he was a driver for KeyCare, transporting people to medical appointments.

Jim always had a love for the outdoors. He loved deer hunting with his dad and friends in the Jump River area when he was young. This led to him building a home on 80 acres when he retired. Hunting, fishing and just being outside was where he was happiest. Telling a good story about those adventures over a beer wasn’t too bad either. A trip to the casino to use those math skills was always fun. Most of all, he loved his family. He was the best big brother and uncle.

Jim is survived by his sister, Lou Ann Felix of Chippewa Falls, his nephew, Nathan James Felix and Nathan’s wife, Laura King and their girls, Eden and Ailey of Altoona; he is also survived by his stepsons, James Johnson and Brett Johnson of Minnesota; cousin, Michael Buchanan of Cottage Grove, WI and good friend, Dale Prince of Chippewa Falls; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and aunts and uncles.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at the Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. Inurnment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at Holy Ghost Church.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

A Memorial Mass for James V. Felix was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.

Rev. David Nowicki was celebrant of the Memorial Mass and officiated at the prayers of inurnment in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

Music during the Mass was provided by Judy Brist. Readings were given by Brenda Erickson. Gift bearers were Lou Ann Felix and Nathan Felix.

Urn bearers were Michael Buchanan, Nathan Felix, Dale Prince, and Bob Rooney.
