Joan Mary (Glomski) Polus died peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Dove Healthcare – West in Eau Claire.  

She was born November 12, 1929 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Julius and Laurina (Martell) Glomski.

She worked at Amoco Plastics until her retirement.  Following that, she became a Mayo Clinic volunteer.

While she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and puzzles, her passion was gardening. Before working at Amoco Plastics, she worked selling flowers at Jackson’s Fruit Market in Hallie and Arnie’s Ski and Garden Center in Eau Claire.

She is survived by 5 children: Anthony (Donna) Polus of Farmington, MO, Timothy (Roxy) Polus of Gordon WI, Lillian (Bob) Hillis of Eleva WI, Ben (Pamela) Polus of Chippewa Falls and Angela Redmann (Mike Guss) of Lakeville MN; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; a daughter, MaryAnn, her parents; three siblings, Thomas Glomski, Leone Kastel and Judith Wathke; and a great grandson, Trevor Polus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Jesse Burish will be officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21 at the funeral home.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

Funeral services for Joan M. Polus were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21 at the Horan Funeral Home.

The Very Rev. Jesse Burish officiated at the service and at the prayers of interment in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Readings were given by Pam Polus and Tim Polus.

Casket bearers were Joe Austin, Bob Gale, Sam Hillis, Kyle, Steve and Tim Polus.
