John “Bryan” Redwine, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, April 20, 2026 with his wife by his side, leaving behind a life defined by his love and dedication to his family, his work, and the outdoors he loved.
John was born April 9, 1940 in Ladysmith, the son of Donald and Gladys (Hewitt) Redwine. After graduating from Ladysmith High School in 1958, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Truax Field in Madison, WI where he served honorably.
John’s career began with the Coca-Cola Company and Peters Meats before he joined Northern States Power Company in 1972. Through hard work and determination, he achieved the position of foreman in the gas department retiring in 2001 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service.
John had a lifelong passion for fishing and hunting, finding peace and joy outdoors. In his later years, he devoted time to gardening, feeding songbirds, and enjoying time with family. He had a great memory of his childhood and loved telling stories that entertained his children and his friends. His log cabin along the Chippewa River held a special place in his heart and was the setting for many cherished memories. He was a proud patriot, with a deep love of our country and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #77.
John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathleen (Bowe-Wolf); his children, Bradley (Julie) of Menomonie, Kimberly (Lee) Simonson of Eden Prairie, MN, and Jon (Stephanie) of Eau Claire; stepson, Scott Wolf of Berryville, VA; and stepdaughter, Sarah (Dave) Zaun of Rosemount, MN; two brothers, Ronald Redwine of Iron River, WI and Craig (Carol) Redwine of Manitowoc; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 29 years, Shirlee Jean Phillips. Together they raised three children, Bradley Donald, Kimberly Renee and Jon David. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gladys (Hewitt) Redwine; and great-granddaughter, Lainey Brantner.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 17 at Horizon’s Bar, Grill & Event Center in Tilden. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Elk Mound with military rites conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council at a later date.
