Karen M. Nielsen, 59, of Ladysmith, died Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

                Karen was born March 4, 1966 in Winfield, IL, the daughter of Ronald and Nancy (Herrli) Barkdoll. She was a an electrical mechanical engineer for many years.

                Karen is survived by one son, Ronald Nielsen of Columbus, GA; one daughter, Isabella Nielsen of Medford; her mother, Nancy Barkdoll; three sisters, Mary (Nels) Gebben of Lake Hallie, Joan (Hans) Miller of Eau Claire and Amy Anderson of Merrill; 7 grandchildren, Calab and Anastasia Akey, Elizabeth, Emma, Isaiah, Elliana and Ilias Niesen, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

                Karen was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Barkdoll.

                A Celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 8 in the Park West Club House 1378 Drake Dr. Chippewa Falls.
