Leon F. Mundt, 84, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, July 5, 2024 at his residence under the care of Interim Hospice.

                Leon was born January 27, 1940 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Leon and Rose C. (Goveronski) Mundt. He served honorably in the U.S. Army.

                On May 19, 1962, Leon married Vivian Gilbertson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.

                Leon is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; two sons, Anthony (Melissa) Mundt of Baldwin and Brian Mundt of Chippewa Falls; and three grandchildren, Brian Jr., Melanie and Danielle.

                Leon was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Mundt; and one sister, Sylvia Brandt.

                Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.

                Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. Rev. Dr. Arthur Bergren will be officiating. Inurnment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

                 A Memorial service for Leon F. Mundt was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.

                Rev. Dr. Arthur Bergren officiated at the service.

                Readings were given by Monica Berkseth and Geri Stout. Videographer was Dave Wilson.

                Music during the service was provided by accompanist, Susan Barta and soloist, Mark Nymo.
