Lucyann F. Le Cleir, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday February 7, 2026 at Lake Hallie Memory Care in the village of Lake Hallie.
Lucyann was born in Chippewa County, one of 10 children born to William & Ida (Zwiefelhofer) Swoboda.
She attended St. Charles Grade School and McDonell High School and was an active member of Notre Dame Church for well over 60 years.
Lucyann proudly served as City Clerk for the City of Chippewa Falls for more than 36 years and retired in 1996.
In retirement Lucy volunteered with the Chippewa County Historical Society, the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association and with Main Street Association where she worked on 2 historical books about the early days of Chippewa Falls.
In 2006 she was elected President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1038.
Lucy also traveled all over the US and abroad, with her favorite being a trip to Italy with her sister, Ione.
While her husband John was alive, she spent many enjoyable nights dancing to his polka band.
Lucyann is survived by her daughter, Mary (Mitch) Griffin; grandson, John (Max) Griffin; sister, Ione Hebert; brothers-in-law, Dayton Reed and James Schemenauer; and special niece, Kathleen (Ed) Le Duc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Le Cleir; mother & father, Ida & William Swoboda, brothers, Arnold (Margaret) Swoboda, Bernard (Bernadette) Swoboda, and George (Vernetta) Swoboda; sisters, Lillian (John) Butak, Florence (Gerald) King, Rosanna (Delbert) Richmond, Eileen Reed and Helen Schemenauer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14th at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. William Felix will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of services at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 14th at the church.
AFTER SERVICE NOTICE
Funeral services for Lucyann F. LeCleir were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.
Rev. William P. Felix was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass server, Mike Korger. Entombment was in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.
Music during the Mass was provided by Nancy Haley and Joe Schwetz. Readings were given by Ione Hebert and Barb deVenecia. Gift bearers were Carol Bowe and JoAnn Wendels.
Casket bearers were Craig Bowe, Max Griffin, Chuck, Larry and Steve Hebert, and Jeff Schemenauer.
The Chippewa VFW Auxiliary Post 1038 conducted a ritual before Mass.
