Marilyn S. LeDuc Obituary

Marilyn S. LeDuc, 76, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, died Thursday, April 17, 2025 after a yearlong battle with cancer at her residence with her loving husband, Tom and sister, Joyce by her side under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.

Marilyn was born February 28, 1949 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of John “Jack” and Bertha (Gindt) Zimmerman. She grew up in Rural Boyd – graduating from St. Joseph’s Catholic Grade School, then graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1967 and Stevens Point School Practical Nursing in 1968. In 1968 she began working at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls and she worked there until 1982 – the majority of her time spent working in surgery.

On October 2, 1982 she was united in marriage to Thomas LeDuc at Notre Dame Catholic Church and shortly before that time she began working at Internal Medicine Associates which later became the Marshfield Clinic. She worked there from 1982-2013.

She loved working with the patients and was always ready to go the extra step to ensure they were well taken care of. Anyone who knew Marilyn knew she was “The World’s greatest cat lover”, she loved her flower gardens, the game of golf, crocheting, really hard crossword puzzles and wine.

Marilyn was always the special aunt to all her nieces and nephews and their children. She always had special surprises for all of them. She was a very gifted crocheter and always willing to show others her crafts and share them with others.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Tom.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Tom; sisters, Delores Schmitt of Neillsville and Joyce Wendtland of Chippewa Falls; brothers, John (Debbie) Zimmerman of Spring Valley and Jim (Renee) Zimmerman of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Although she was never blessed with children of her own, she treated her nieces and nephews like they were her own.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her three cats, Pugger, Dusty “Dustball” and Rusty “Ruffy”.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 25 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cadott. Rev. William P. Felix will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 25 at the church.

Marilyn’s family would like donations to the Chippewa County Humane Association.
