Mary Lou Marick, 93, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. 


She was born in Jim Falls, to George and Laura (Hickey) Bergeron on March 6, 1932.


Mary Lou attended Popple Lake Grade School and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High in 1950.  She also attended Eau Claire State Teachers College from 1950 until 1952 and then taught in Chippewa and Eau Claire County schools for a few years.  Mary Lou returned to the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in education in 1961, and she continued to teach in Chippewa and Eau Claire County public and private schools.  


In June 1955, Mary Lou united in marriage with Robert B. Marick at Sacred Heart Church in Jim Falls.  Together they had two sons.  While her sons were growing up, Mary Lou took an active part in their education, teaching and volunteering at their schools.  


Robert and Mary Lou were members of Holy Ghost Parish.  After their retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their sons and grandchildren.  Since suffering a stroke in 2015, Mary Lou lived in Minnesota to be closer to her family. 


Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Michael and Anthony (Margarita); her three grandchildren, Stephanie, Robert and Gabriela; her brothers-in-law, Fred (Marjorie) Marick, and Gerald (Barbara) Marick; as well as many nieces and nephews. 


She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; two brothers, Richard J. Bergeron and Thomas Bergeron, Sr.; brother-in-law, George (Elizabeth) Marick; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Kramer and Dorothy (Kenneth) Germain. 


Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 12:00 pm, noon, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.  A visitation will take place at church from 11:00 am until the time of services.  Burial at Hope Cemetery will follow services.
