Michael J. Stokes, 28, of Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his residence.

                Michael was born March 22, 1997 in Chippewa Falls, the son of James and Kelli (Lancette) Stokes.

                Michael enjoyed singing in the choir, acting in the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre, the State Theatre and high school plays, receiving many 1st place awards at the state level. Ron Buckles, Chi-Hi music teacher was a major influence on Michael’s life.

                Michael is survived by his parents, James and Kelli Stokes of Chippewa Falls; paternal grandpa, Mike (Marion) Stokes of Eau Claire; two brothers, Joseph Lancette of Chippewa Falls and Ralph Winters of Eau Claire; niece, Autumn Winters; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

                Michael was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James and Marlene Lancette; paternal grandma, Lorretta Stokes; sister-in-law, Nicole Winters; and paternal great grandma, Mae Parr.

                A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 2 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Deacon Dan Rider will be officiating.

                Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2 at the funeral home.
