Nancy J. Sires, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on June 20, 1960, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Judy (Sinette) Sires.
Nancy lived her life as a strong and devoted Catholic, guided by a deep and unwavering faith. She dedicated much of her life to serving others, especially through her church. For many years, she was a leader in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), helping guide individuals on their spiritual journey into the Church. She also generously gave her time to the “Spirit of Christmas”, bringing joy and support to those in need. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she now rests in peace in the loving hands of Jesus.
Nancy graduated from McDonell High School in 1978 and went on to earn her degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 1991. She worked as an accountant for 11 years at Mathias Die and Stout Plastics in St. Paul, and later at TTM Technologies in Chippewa Falls from 2002 until her retirement in 2024.
Nancy was an extraordinary aunt to her 13 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. She played a meaningful role in their lives, never missing a birthday, holiday, or sporting event—you could always count on seeing her in the crowd cheering them on. They were truly her favorite people.
Nancy was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and never missed a game. She found joy in bowling, golfing, going to movies, and dining out. She loved to travel and created many wonderful memories on trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, and beyond. She cherished time spent with family and friends, often enjoying a good Bloody Mary or an Old-Fashioned. She also loved playing cards and earned the nickname “the shark” for her unbeatable skills.
She is survived by her siblings: James Sires; Daniel (Kathy) Sires; Patricia (Scott) Campbell; and Jon (Amy) Sires; her beloved nieces and nephews—Catie, Amy, Erin, Elaine, Madeline, Max, Sam, Jadyn, Alison, Crystal, Kiersten, Joshua, and Jordan. She will be dearly missed by her great-nieces and nephews: Frankie, Daniel, Simone, Miles, Hannah, Nora, Honor, Ash, Evan, Cole, Zachary, Adalynn, and Natalie; her aunt, Mary Sinette, who was like a sister and, more importantly, her best friend; her aunt and uncle, Jan and Jim Jackson. She will also be deeply missed by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, especially family friend, Betty Oddo, who stood faithfully by her side through all her treatments and until the very end.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her niece, Dawn Sires; and her nephew, Elliot Campbell.
Nancy also had a special love for her dogs—Tinker Bell, Cinnamon, and Mr. Pip—whom she affectionately called her babies. Nancy’s life was one of faith, generosity, and love. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
