Patrick E. Smith, 89, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.

                Pat was born May 6, 1935 in Eau Claire, the son of Edgar and Madalyn (Poquette) Smith. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard,

                On May 12, 1976, Pat married Jodine Vajgrt in Chippewa Falls. He was a member of Holy Ghost Church. He worked at Uniroyal and owned and operated Pat’s Happy Hour.

                Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, he was a true outdoorsman.

                Pat is survived by his loving wife, Jody; two sons, James Smith of Eau Claire and Michael Smith of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Corissa (Jason) Schirmacher of Hudson; and three grandchildren, Jaegar, Gwenyth and Lance Schirmacher.

                Pat was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Smith, Jr in infancy.; his parents; and one sister, Marguerite Larceri.

                Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Jesse Burish will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council at the church.

                Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

Funeral services for Patrick E. Smith were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.

                The Very Rev. Jesse Burish was celebrant of the funeral Mass.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Judy Brist. Readings were given by Marilyn Newton and Maddie Newton. Gift bearers were Gwen Schirmacher and Gavin Newton.

                Casket bearers were Luke, Michael, Shatriya and Skylor Newton, Jaegar and Lance Schirmacher.

                Tuesday evening Rev. Brandon Guenther led the family, relatives and friends in a Christian vigil service at the funeral home.
