Peter J. Dachel, Jr., 95, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Our House Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls.

                Peter was born November 4, 1928 in the town of Anson, the son of Peter J. and Rose (Kurtz) Dachel, Sr..

                On October 29, 1949, Peter married the love of his life, Marilyn White at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. He was a member of Notre Dame Church.

                Peter worked at White Glass Company in Eau Claire for 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974.

                Peter enjoyed backing the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers or any team that was playing, working at the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed camping at the trailer at Winter Haven Resort.

                Family was of utmost importance to Peter. His legacy of putting family first is evident by watching his 5 sons who learned to put family above all else as they watched how Peter raised them. Peter was so proud of his boys (most of the time). Hey, we’re all human!

                Peter is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marilyn; four sons, #1 Donald (Mary), #3 Thomas (Tammy), #5 Terry (Kris) all of Chippewa Falls and #4 Timmy “Tim” (Kim) of Sand Creek; two sisters, Helen Bowe of Chippewa Falls and Mary Ann (Vernon) Culver of Cudahy; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

                Peter was preceded in death by his #2 son, Duane Dachel; his parents; three brothers, Marvin, Robert and Bernard Dachel; one sister, Rose Mary Ferguson; two grandchildren, Christopher Dachel and Rhonda Norby; and three great grandchildren.

                Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Jesse Burish will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

                Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 28 and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Monday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:

Funeral services for Peter J. Dachel, Jr. were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.

                The Very Rev. Jesse Burish was celebrant of the funeral Mass and officiated at the prayers of entombment in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Beth Martinek and Nancy Haley. Readings were given by Sharon Gillis.

                Casket bearers were Lindsay, John, Jacob, Devin, and Derek Dachel, Jason Swan, and Kevin Moeller.

                Monday afternoon the Knights of Columbus led by their chaplain, Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Gorman led the family, relatives and friends in the recitation of the rosary at the funeral home.
