Robert D. Bernier, 81, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at his residence.

Bob was born January 24, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Clifton and Dorothy (Nowak) Bernier, Sr.

Bob served honorably in the Army National Guard from October 5, 1961-August 10, 1962.

On October 2, 1970, Bob married Jean Lenfesty at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.

Bob was a fireman for the city of Chippewa Falls for 10 years, then he bought Bill’s Sport Shop from Bill Statz and has owned and operated since 1972. He also set bowling pins at the Falls Bowl early in his life.

Bob is survived by one son, John Sukopp of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Jim (Jackie) Bernier of Chippewa Falls; and one grandson, Jeff.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; one brother, Clifton “Bud” Bernier, Jr.; and two sisters, Carol Rauscher-Lien and Patricia Eimerman.  

A Celebration of Life will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18th at the Fill Inn Station in Chippewa Falls. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
