Robert C. Wiensch, 86, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024 with loved ones by his side.

                Bob was born May 2, 1938 in Cornell, the son of Carl and Catherine (Tomaschek) Wiensch. He grew up on the family farm in Cornell, graduated from Cornell High School in 1956 and worked for Wisconsin Bell for 38 years.

                He was very proud of his many high school track accomplishments and became a state champion in high jump. He enjoyed bowling for Hoss’s Café, fastpitch softball, dancing, playing cards, camping with family, and trips to Laughlin. He was an avid Badger, Bucks, and Packer fan.

                Bob served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1963.

                Bob met his true love, Joan Hable at the Pines Ballroom in Bloomer and they were married on May 13, 1961, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974 and Notre Dame Church.

                Bob is survived by three sons, David (Julie) of Holcombe, Steven (Kim) of Cadott and Daniel (Michelle) of Cornell; one daughter, Susan (Bruce) Zwiefelhofer of Eau Claire; 8 grandchildren, Josh (Qiao) Wiensch, and Eric (Ashley) Wiensch, Karley and Jake Wiensch, Libby Wiensch, Jason and Justin Zwiefelhofer, and Danielle (Jamie) Hoover; and four great granddaughters, Molly, Leila, Emma and Olivia Wiensch.

                Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joan on December 2, 2004; one daughter, Joleen Wiensch in infancy; his parents; one brother, Eugene Wiensch; and two sisters, Mary Blanchard and Gladys Rubenzer.

                Bob will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.

                Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, December 4th at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

                Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Noon on Wednesday, December 4th at the church.

Funeral services for Robert C. Wiensch were held at Noon Wednesday, December 4th at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.

                The Very Rev. Jesse Burish was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass server, Matt Elstran. Entombment was in Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls. Military rites were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

                Music during the Mass was provided by Rhonda and Rick Rubenzer. Readings were given by Kathy Stark. Gift bearers were Karley and Libby Wiensch and Danielle Hoover.

                Casket bearers were Danielle Hoover, Eric, Jake, Josh, Karley and Libby Wiensch, and Jason and Justin Zwiefelhofer.
