Robert E. Maurer, Jr.

Robert E Maurer Jr., 63, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

On August 2, 1960, Bob was born to Robert and Donna (DeBore) Maurer in Freeport, Illinois. Bob graduated from Freeport High School in 1978. He married his sweetheart, Wendy (Schwartz) Maurer on August 23, 1980 in Freeport Illionis. Bob served his country in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Mahan. Bob worked at Berry Global as a Setup\Operator for 32 years, where he retired early.

Bob enjoyed playing golf, fishing, soaking up the sun and mowing the lawn. He loved taking time coaching his son’s baseball teams as they grew up. Bob also liked to spend time watching sports, his favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Chicago Cubs. One of his greatest memories was going to Wrigley Field and watching the Cubs play the Brewers with his sons. He also enjoyed time after work shooting pool with guys from work and playing poker. He had a laugh like no one else, it was a joy to hear. He will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by his wife, Wendy Maurer; daughter, Melissa Maurer; grandson, Ethan Maurer and great grandsons Ethan Maurer Jr., Elias Maurer; and his granddaughter, Morgan Maurer; son, Robert (Angela) Maurer III; granddaughters, Aftyn (Aaron) Rufledt, Kylea Maurer, and Annabelle Maurer. Son, Michael (Lacie) Maurer, granddaughters, Hailey Maurer, Shay, and Shyann Hagen.  His three sisters, Nancy Harrington, Peggy Castle, and Wendy Wilson; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Maurer Sr.; his mother, Donna Wilson; stepfather, Jim Wilson; mother-in-law, Judy Schwartz; brother-in-law, Chuck Castle; brother-in-law, Robert Harrington; and two grandsons, Arik and Asher.

The Celebration of life service will be held at Oasis Church 3445 Gateway Dr. Eau Claire, WI 54701 October 14. The visitation will be at 1:00pm service will start at 2:00pm.

A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice for all you did to ease us through Bob’s end of life transition. We also would like to thank the Oasis Church family for all the love and support during this time.
