Sally S. Kjorlien, 86, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.

                Sally was born February 27th, 1937 in Cornell, the daughter of Clarence C. and Violet V. (Hanna) Rushman. She graduated from McDonell High School in 1956.

                On May 4, 1957, Sally married Lee Kjorlien at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.

                Sally babysat for 40 years+, worked at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair for 38 years and American Inn Motel for 24 years.

                Sally is survived by her loving husband, Lee; two sons, Jeff (Angie) Kjorlien of Hubertus and Jay (Elisa) Kjorlien of Appleton; three daughters, Julie Murphy of Tomahawk, Jill (Ty) Shipley of Chippewa Falls and Jana Gutsch of Tomahawk; nine grandchildren, Samantha (Shane), Will, Abigail, Eddie, Haley (Tyler), Kayla, Jamie (Jesse), Alicen and Olivia; and eight great grandchildren, Phoebe, Maxton, Alex, Chase, Kinleigh, Axton, Khloe and Kadyn; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

                Sally was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Tracy Murphy; her parents; her mother-in-law, Ruth Jasper; three brothers, Charles, Peter and Clarence “Eddie” Rushman; and three sisters, Virginia Gale, Jean Emerson and Charlene Walker.

                A Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, December 1st at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Private inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 1st at the funeral home.

                Sally was the kindest, most selfless person you could ever meet. She always saw the positive in everyone she ever met. She enjoyed traveling, baking, flamingo wars with her girls and being with her family. She loved the Brewers and Packers, and her trips to New York with her sisters and her many trips to Las Vegas with family and friends. She enjoyed doing things for others and sending out cards, and always enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities.

                Sally’s family would like to thank her doctors at Marshfield and St. Joseph’s Hospice for your kindness to our mother in her final days and also to her niece, Kathy Emerson and Jane Wall for all the time and care you spent with mom, she so loved you both!


                A Memorial service for Sally S. Kjorlien was held at 7 p.m. Friday, December 1 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.

                The Very Rev. Jesse Burish officiated at the service and at the prayers of inurnment in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

                Readings were given by Olivia Kjorlien, Sam Murphy and Hailey Meddaugh. Eulogies were given by Jeff Kjorlien, Alicen Kjorlien and Alex Brockman.
