Shirley Ann Bowe, 89 of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Prairie Point in Altoona with her family by her side under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Shirley was born June 26, 1936 in Mondovi, Pepin County, the daughter of Lloyd and Myrtle (Schreiner) Goss. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1954 and worked at the Golden Age Home in Chippewa Falls. She loved to crochet afghans and collect antique dishware.
Shirley married James Bowe on August 1, 1955 at St. Charles Church. Last year, they celebrated 70 years together.
They enjoyed a trip to Hawaii, farming, playing cards, snowmobiling and spending 15 winters in Rockport, Texas with their camper.
Together they raised 5 children: Mark, Christine, Laurie, Judianne and Neil.
Shirley is survived by her children, Mark Bowe, Laurie (Joel) Turner, Judianne Litchen and Neil (Kari) Bowe; son-in-law, Jim “Fa” Konsella; 11 grandchildren, Amy Konsella, Craig Bowe, Cory (Angie) Bowe, Lindsay (Matt) Dowgwillo, Dylan (Carolyn) Turner, Meggan (Alex) Rose, Monica Litchen, Kate Litchen, Dr. Nigel Bowe, Conner Bowe and Molly Bowe; and 9 great grandchildren, Hailey Bowe, Wyatt Bowe, Colton Bowe, Lillian Rose, Beckett Dowgwillo, Isabel Watton, Jed Rose, Cecilia Dowgwillo and Colette Turner.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James on August 19, 2025; her daughter, Christine Konsella; her parents; 7 brothers, Wilson, Arbor, Henry, Lloyd, Jr., Russell, Eugene and Raymond Goss; and one sister, Margaret Goss.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14 at the church.
AFTER SERVICE NOTICE:
Funeral services for Shirley Ann Bowe were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14th at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.
Rev. Alex Kren was celebrant of the funeral Mass assisted by Mass servers, Steve Armstrong and Tom Weyenberg. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Music during the Mass was provided by Curstin Lynch and the St. Charles Funeral Choir. Readings were given by Nigel Bowe and Lindsay Dowgwillo. Gift bearers were Nigel Bowe and Lindsay Dowgwillo.
Casket bearers were Conner, Cory, Craig, Molly and Nigel Bowe, and Dylan Turner.
