Susan E. Wyland Obituary
Susan (Sue) Eileen Wyland, 66, of Chippewa Falls, town of Wheaton, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Chippewa Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Chippewa Falls after a brief bout with cancer.
She was born July 12, 1957, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Dayton and Eileen (Swoboda) Reed.
Sue married Daniel Wyland on July 11, 2005, in Chippewa Falls and resided in La Crosse.
She worked at the Chippewa Manor for over 20 years. When she moved to La Crosse she worked at Bethany Lutheran until retiring in 2020. After retirement she moved to Chippewa Falls and resided on her families’ farm.
She enjoyed being outside and especially enjoyed going to her great-nieces and nephews’ baseball games, hockey and skating events. You could always see her at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair helping the kids get their calves ready for showing. She even showed a few years herself. Sue also enjoyed summer and ice fishing. She looked forward to hunting season. She would go to “the shack” in her dad’s woods with the guys every year. Did she ever shoot a deer? She sure enjoyed that time of year. Even though Sue did not have children or grandchildren of her own, her great-nieces and nephews loved spending time with Aunt Sue.
Survivors include her father, Dayton; sister Carol (Craig) Bowe of Chippewa Falls; brother, Daniel (Kathy) Reed of Lake Elmo, MN; brother-in-law, Clyde "Shorty" Bowe of Chippewa Falls; nieces, Amanda (Matt) Goettl, Alesia (Eric) Vavra, Ashley (Tyler) Kisner, Bridget (Alex) White, Kati Mullenburg (Tom Pevan), Myranda Reed; nephew, Alex (Rachel) Bowe; great-nieces and great-nephews, Myles, Marcus and Margaret Goettl, Kendra, Nolan, Colton, Reece and Brooklyn Vavra, Avery, Haven, Henley and Liv Bowe, Bre Rasmus, Lincoln and Brody Kisner, Britynn, Lahni and Kobe White, and Owen Mullenburg-Pevan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan in 2014; mother, Eileen in 2020, sister, Jean in 2021 and nephew, Dawson Reed in 2022.
Sue’s family would like to thank the Mayo Clinic Health System, Mayo Hospice and Chippewa Manor for the wonderful care they provided Sue for the past few months.
