Wayne F. Goss Obituary
Wayne Fenton Goss, 89, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in Anchorage, Alaska.
Wayne was born May 26, 1936 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the eldest son of five children born to Fenton and Kathryn (Cardinal) Goss. He served honorably in the army with many great stories from his time overseas in Germany and his many memorable trips to the pubs. Wayne later worked for Goss Transfer and Menard’s for many years.
Wayne was a kind-hearted man as generous as the day is long in the Alaskan summertime. Known for his beautiful singing voice and yodeling, he blessed many a church choir, car trip, and bedtime lullaby. He is especially remembered for his talented storytelling that animated the room, drawing in everyone's attention. But above all else, Wayne was a family man -- he would truly want to be remembered for how deeply he cherished his family.
He is survived by his four children, Teresa (Eric) Berg, Lori Goss, Bill Goss, and Josh (Amber) Goss; two sisters, Cheri Davis and Mary Sluga; one brother, Dan (Connie) Goss; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Ronnell), Kaitlyn, Lillian, Raylan, Aubree, McKinlee, and Vincent; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kazzden, and Khaivon, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his significant other, Bernie Shock, and her family, Vicki (David) Matthews, Rita (Archie) Giddings, Sandra (Steven) Hall, Lena (Jason) Shilha; and grandchildren Erica, Ethan, Audrey, David, Connor, and Dakota.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Fenton and Kathryn; brother, Pat; sister-in-law, Lynn; niece, Kelly; and grandnephews, Ben and Dederick.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November15th at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Eau Claire. Rev. Timothy Oudenhoven will be officiating.
